Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
DNS Helper is a set of plain-language explanations of DNS records. At the time of writing, nothing on this site asks you to type in a domain, an e-mail address, or anything else about yourself. There is no account, no comment section, and no form.
Security by Design
This site enforces a strict Content-Security-Policy and other hardened security headers on every response, and HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) on every HTTPS response. A request over plain HTTP gets nothing but a redirect to HTTPS. We do not load any third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising scripts.
What We Store (and What We Don't)
Standard server logs: Like virtually every website, our web server keeps short-lived technical access logs, which can include your IP address and the page you requested. We do not mine these logs, we do not use them for analytics or profiling. We keep them only as long as needed for abuse prevention and technical troubleshooting, and delete them on a regular schedule.
If this ever changes: should a feature on this site ever ask you to enter something, this policy will be updated first to describe exactly what is sent, kept, and for how long, the same standard hostingdetails.eu's own policy holds its lookup tools to.
Cookies
We use one cookie, for one purpose: remembering your preference for light or dark mode. It holds one of two words and nothing else, and is not shared with any other domain. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access any personal data we hold about you, have inaccurate data corrected, have your data erased, restrict or object to how it's processed, receive a copy of it in a portable format, and lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you believe we've handled it wrongly. In practice, since this site collects next to nothing tied to any individual, most such requests will have a short answer, but the right to ask is yours regardless.
